An update on my life before things get trivial!

So, after much consideration (just kidding, it was pretty much on a whim), I decided to resurrect my blog after a very, very long hiatus brought about by a few life-changing events- namely the birth of my beautiful baby boy Quinton (who is eight months now!) and my moving across the country to settle in Southern California. Southern southern California- so southern it's almost Mexico. It's an entirely different land from the temperate region of the northeast US I'm from- replace my pine and oak trees with palm trees and tumble weeds, my lakes and streams with desert and you've pretty much got it. You can't imagine how strange it is to have been looking at the calendar and thinking- yes, it really is February, so why is it 70 degrees Fahrenheit (I think that's about 20 degrees Celsius) outside right now?

I did at least get to visit New York for Christmas though and experience the snow and the cold, which was quite refreshing actually and I enjoyed it a lot! As it stands, I won't be returning to New York until October, but I'll be able to enjoy the leaves changing color as well as go to New York Comic Con/New York Anime Fest for the first time in too long with Eric and Kelly, as well as I believe Kelly's boyfraaaaand Travy. I'm really looking forward to that. Conventions are always fun with them, and after going to them steadily and suddenly not going anymore, I'm excited to be able to run around and get my nerd on. I was considering going to the Korean Music Festival this year, now that I'm just a reasonable drive away (about the same as if I was going to NYC from my old home), but of course this is the year that they don't really have anyone I want to see. Nice as Junho's face may be I'm not a 2pm fan, and Kara- well, the butt dance isn't enough to coax me into dishing out like $200 to see two bands I'm not a fan of.

Oh well, I'm not heartbroken. I'll probably go up to LA for that weekend just to hang out and check out the city as I've really yet to. The closest I've been about it is Anaheim-ish when I went to Disneyland. Disneyland, by the way, is fantastic, and I want to go there every day of my life. We definitely plan on going when Q is a bit bigger and can properly enjoy himself there, as it was, he only got to go on the Pirates ride with us, and was very unhappy when a bit of water came up into our little boat. Not so much fun at all.

With not so much more to write though, I feel as if it's about time I conclude this entry- so! Expect soon a review of an Elf haul and likely some music reviews, and remember-

Be excellent to each other.
